NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines) Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Oncology
Author(s): National Comprehensive Cancer Network®
Date of publication: April 2014
Date of Review: August 2014
Method of Review: The Evidence Based Practice and Research Committee of the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses conducted individual reviews of the clinical guideline using the AGREE criteria1. The committee then had a phone conference to review findings and make recommendations.
Review Summary: This protocol has information for both adolescents and young adults. While the information for young adults contains information not applicable to the pediatric population, the adolescent information is well referenced, current and well written. There are excellent references for adolescents for support during their treatment and throughout their survivorship. References are current and recommendations are clinically sound.
Recommendation for use: The information regarding adolescents is recommended for use.
