Webinar: Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infections in Pediatric Hem/Onc/BMT Patients: An Update and Appraisal of the Evidence
Thursday, June 21, 2018, 01:00pm - 02:00pm

Efforts to reduce central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs) have resulted in decreased rates, however, these hospital-acquired conditions remain a challenge for pediatric hematology/oncology/BMT patients. Although pediatric hem/onc centers have undertaken multiple interventions to reduce CLABSIs, the evidence base to guide CLABSI reduction efforts in this population remains limited.

This webinar will examine and appraise current evidence related to risk factors for CLABSIs, causative organisms, and interventions targeted at reducing CLABSIs with attention to the pediatric hem/onc/BMT population. The webinar will address challenges inherent in measuring outcomes of interventions to reduce CLABSIs. Finally, the webinar will equip attendees in applying principles of practice-based evidence in proposing interventions to reduce CLABSIs.
