Oncology Nurses: Implementation of a Staff Well-Being Program

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Distinguish compassion fatigue from compassion satisfaction and discuss how they both affect overall nurse performance and patient care.
  2. Identify events that can lead to higher levels of stress and increase risk of burnout within the staff on a unit.
  3. Describe what a Code Lavender is and integrate strategies within the EBP model into their own unit.
  4. List challenges of coordinating debriefs among staff members and formulate methods that promote attendance.
  5. Analyze effects of methods implemented to prevent compassion fatigue and compassion burnout.
  6. Analyze evidence composed from the Professional Quality of Life Scale (ProQOL).

Credits

Upon successful completion of this course, nurses will earn 1 NCPD. There are no pharmacology hours associated with this activity.
