APHON and its community provide a variety of events to help you keep pace with advancements in pediatric hematology/oncology nursing. You can view APHON events, local chapter events, Pediatric Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider courses, industry events, upcoming webinars, or the calendar of all events. The calendar name will indicate which events you are viewing.
The APHON Pediatric Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Instructor Course is designed for any nurse who has completed the provider course and meets the qualifications to be trained to teach the course. This course provides general instruction in adult education, guidance in the planning of lectures based on the APHON program content, and instruction in administering the provider exam. Upon successful completion, nurses return to their institutions as recognized APHON Pediatric Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Instructors who are able to provide ongoing instruction and education to other registered nurses.
At the end of this presentation, learners will demonstrate effective adult teaching strategies for new chemotherapy/biotherapy provider training.
The measurement of this outcome will be evidenced by a post conference evaluation and 90 day outcomes survey.
Participants will be awarded 6.25 CNE contact hours upon completion of the entire course and evaluation.
The Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON) is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
The program content has been reviewed by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) and is acceptable for recertification points.

CNE programs must be formally approved for contact hours by an acceptable accreditor/approver of nursing CE to be used for recertification by ONCC. If the CNE provider fails to obtain formal approval to award contact hours by an acceptable accrediting/approval body, no information related to ONCC recertification may be used in relation to the program.
Course content applies to multiple content areas across multiple credentials. Individual nurse’s learning plans are linked to the ONCC Test Blueprint for the certification they hold. Review the current test blueprint available on the ONCC website to determine where the content fits.
