We have advised all instructors to take appropriate precautions and be compliant with the CDC guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. APHON has provided all instructors with guidelines for delivering a virtual Pediatric Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider course. Please contact an instructor to learn more.

The Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON) is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
A staff member, volunteer (faculty), or family member who is affiliated with a commercial company must declare that relationship in advance of involvement with an educational activity that could be used as a forum to promote the interest of that company and its products. The material presented in this activity represents the opinion of the presenters and not necessarily the views of APHON.
All individuals in a position to control the content of this educational activity report no conflict of interest.
The program content has been reviewed by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) and is acceptable for recertification points.
6.25 ILNA Points in Care of the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Patient OR Professional Practice
ONCC review is only for designating content to be used for recertification points and is not for nursing continuing professional development (NCPD) accreditation. NCPD programs must be formally approved for contact hours by an acceptable accreditor/approver of nursing NCPD to be used for recertification by ONCC. If the NCPD provider fails to obtain formal approval to award contact hours by an acceptable accrediting/approval body, no information related to ONCC recertification may be used in relation to the program.
ONCC recently revised the process for ILNA coding to streamline the process and provide consistency across credentials as much as possible. Rather than coding courses for each credential, ONCC is now coding content that may apply across credentials and allow nurses to earn NCPD credit in broader categories. Any course or program that has been accredited for 4 NCPD or less can be applied in full or split in any category that reasonably fits the content for which the nurse needs ILNA points.
The total amount of ILNA points claimed may not exceed the total amount of NCPD awarded from this course and may only apply to the credential each nurse is renewing. Please also note that individual nurses' learning plans are linked to the ONCC test blueprint for the certification they hold. The nurse will need to review the test blueprint to determine where the content fits.
Have questions regarding the CPHON® or BMTCN® ILNA Coding? Please visit the ONCC website or call them toll-free at 877.769.ONCC (US and Canada only).
