Hematology/Oncology Medication Fact Sheets
At APHON, we know how important it is to have clear, helpful information when it comes to pediatric hematology/oncology care. That’s why we’ve created easy-to-understand medication fact sheets—available in both English and Spanish—for the families and nurses who need them.
APHON is pleased to provide the Hematology/Oncology Medication Fact Sheets on a complimentary basis to active members.
This valuable resource has been developed in collaboration with APHON’s Patient and Family Education Committee and through generous donations made to APHON’s Star Fund.
Below is a listing of all available fact sheets in their combined English and Spanish version. To find a specific medication, simply click the first letter of its name, then select the medication to open its fact sheet.
Disclaimer: As new scientific information becomes available, recommendations regarding treatments and drug therapies change. The Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON) has sought to make these medication fact sheets as accurate and up-to-date as possible. However, the information in them was extracted from manufacturers’ guidelines and does not include recommendations of specific protocols or institutional practices. APHON does not endorse any of the hematology or oncology treatments discussed in these medication fact sheets. Readers are advised always to check product information and package inserts for new information regarding the medications and their administration, and any practice described in the sheets should be applied by the healthcare provider in accordance with professional standards of care in light of the unique circumstances of each patient’s situation. For this reason, it is appropriate to individualize a fact sheet using the “Notes from Your Healthcare Team” section before distributing it to patients and families.
