Become an APHON Member and You Join a Community
We invite you to become a member of APHON, a remarkable organization whose membership is composed of energetic professionals with a strong commitment to APHON and their profession.
You will join thousands of pediatric hematology/oncology nurses and allied healthcare professionals from across the country and around the world who have the same vision as you; a world where children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer and blood disorders, and their families receive the highest quality of care and support.
Since 1976, APHON has been here to support your practice through professional development, networking opportunities, continuing education, and promotion of expertise in pediatric oncology nursing. In 2006, APHON incorporated hematology into its mission, recognizing that a majority of APHON members routinely care for young patients with hematological and oncological disorders.
Members are invited to join their Local Chapter. Currently there are more than 50 chapters in the US and Canada, promoting education and networking at the local level.
The APHON Member Directory allows members to search for their colleagues by name, e-mail, practice settings, specialties, and more. Once they've found the fellow member they're searching for, they can then send a message or add them as a contact.
The APHON Member Connection is an online networking tool is exclusive to APHON members and allows for instant, active responses in an online community platform. Members are instantly included in the open forum and are encouraged to join additional specialty focused subgroups.
The APHON Mentoring Program links members in their mutual pursuit of higher goals in the areas of: leadership, professional/career development, role integration, pursuit of higher education, research, nursing teaching/education, clinical development and project development.
APHON members are eligible for awards that are presented to pediatric hematology/oncology nurses who have been recognized as going above and beyond in their participation in APHON.
