APHON members are eligible for awards that are presented to pediatric hematology/oncology nurses who have been recognized as going above and beyond in their participation in APHON.
Grant and scholarship opportunities are available to support continued education, research and evidence based practice in pediatric hematology/oncology nursing.

JOPHON Writing Award

Awarded to a first author of a manuscript accepted for publication in the journal in the last year and who has had three or more manuscripts published previously. Sponsored by SAGE Publications.

The following award programs are sponsored and administered by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC).
Certified Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse of the Year Award
Deadline: May 1
Recognizes the outstanding achievements of a CPON® or CPHON® in the areas of pediatric oncology nursing, oncology nursing service, and promotion of oncology nursing certification.
Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse of the Year Award
Deadline: November 15
Recognizes a BMTCN® who has made significant contributions to BMT nursing; BMT nursing service; and who has supported and promoted BMT nursing and/or oncology nursing certification.
Roberta Scofield Memorial Certification Award
Deadline: September 15
Recognizes nurses who are committed to oncology nursing. Up to 150 applicants will receive a free registration for an ONCC certification examination or renewal by Option 1 (ILNA Points). The non-transferrable awards must be used for an ONCC certification registration for the year awarded.
