Local Chapter Annual Incentive Contest

The local chapter incentive contest encourages local chapters to focus on achieving goals in a designated area each year. Every chapter is eligible and is encouraged to participate in the incentive contest.

APHON’s Legislative Action Center is used to inform members and encourage them to assist in achieving the association’s health policy and advocacy goals. The online advocacy tools deliver messages across channels, leverages social media to promote a key message, encourage action, and build community. Through the Legislative Action Center, APHON is able to track how many messages are sent to policymakers as well as who sends those messages which assists in evaluating the advocacy campaign and identifying active members. When policymakers receive multiple messages from constituents, it alerts them that this is a particular issue that should be paid attention to.

Step Up Campaign

From May 1-July 27, APHON Chapters are encouraged to participate in a Step Up for Childhood Cancer advocacy campaign that coincides with a national campaign asking Members of Congress to step up and support funding for childhood cancer programs and research. The goal of the campaign is to send as many messages to Members of Congress as possible during the timeframe utilizing the Legislative Action Center. The chapter with the most amount of messages sent will be declared the winner. A bonus point will be awarded to chapters who visit the district office of their Member of Congress.
